Living in Boston, the enormity of the Red Sox' success in the playoffs makes it difficult to write haiku with any sort of objectivity. In this case I tried to see things as my dog might. She doesn't care much for baseball, but in the NBA she's a big fan of the Minnesota Timberwolves...

i'm not sure, out of the context of this year's controversial playoffs, whether the importance of the playoffs would be clear enough with just "extra innings."
maybe:
baseball playoffs
in extra innings
i ignore my pacing dog
?
maybe "innings" would suffice to relate "playoffs" to baseball?

i'm assuming your dog needs to go outside to relieve him or herself, so in awhile, it will be a whining pacing dog?
